As an ISTDP advance-trained therapist, I use my eyes and ears to watch how your system moves feelings viscerally through your body, in order to help you heal.
I assess how anxiety manifests throughout your system as a protective barrier to push down those difficult, complex feelings that are so hard to feel and process, from attachment ruptures in your youth.
We will actively see what protective defenses have turned harmful in your life, such as critical thoughts, self-harm, devaluation, self-doubt, rumination, helplessness, detachment, and more. Mindfulness will be at a peak as I collaborate with you in a very active stance, as we get to the bottom of your reasons for suffering.
Let’s build your capacity to feel more and think clearly, without the avoidance behaviors that decrease your confidence in life.
Intensive Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISDTP), originally developed by Habib Davanloo, M.D., is a scientifically validated method of psychotherapy which dramatically accelerates the therapy, so that patients see a deep and meaningful change, often quickly. There is substantial evidence supporting ISTDP as an effective and cost-saving treatment for a broad range of psychiatric disorders, including Anxiety, Depression, interpersonal difficulties, and many chronic medical conditions.
ISTDP for Anxiety and Depression/Mental Health Therapy: If you are requesting ISTDP it is video-recorded. I am happy to accept credit card payments including HSA/Flex spending Payments. This includes New York, Florida, and Vermont. I do not accept insurance as an in network benefit for these sessions. I will provide a superbill for possible reimbursement, which is between you and your insurance company. Typically, reimbursement is possible after a deductible has been met. I cannot guarantee this, and you will be provided a good faith estimate, which provides all fee information up front.
Please know that we start with me knowing little information about you, so we can experience our meeting together, with no preconceived ideas.
I’m using experiential, psychodynamic therapy working from an attachment and mindful cognitive perspective, concentrating on somatic issues, as well. We look at your integrated system and see how it all functions to keep you operating as you are.
Please complete the paperwork and email it to me and pay for the session 48hrs in advance through the link on the payment page.
We will have 2.5 hours to see the problem you have, how it makes you suffer, and if you want to do something about it. We will have an experience together, as this is a psychodynamic approach.
At the end of session we will determine if ISTDP is the method to follow and I ask for the next six weekly session commitment to provide changes. Most often, significant relief is found in the first session. ISTDP therapy works well for many people, yet not all.
I have a graded approach when the standard method is contraindicated. If you are ready to take charge of your mental health and live with meaning, then reach out if you're ready to start your journey with me.
ISTDP is very active and I will be working with you at your highest capacity. We’ll get to the bottom of your misery, critical, ruminating, self-doubting thoughts. We’ll comprehensively look into your life to see why you’ve been suffering in some areas and yet thriving in others.
This is meaningful, and intentional therapy, and if you want to invest your time and efforts in healing, then this is for you. Please know that this is not counseling, but psychotherapy with an internal focus for your problems.

Therapy together may remind you of when you played a favorite sport or instrument:
These are some examples of what our therapy will be like together. Your brain will be online as memory navigates our course; coordination and attitude will determine our outcome. There's lots of you on board, and lots of me witnessing your path to healing.
Imagine this type of freedom in your mind and body: free from high anxiety, free from critical thoughts and self doubt or constant rumination...revealing your true self.
