Will you get unstuck in life, work, and relationships? Will our work together end your crisis, and will my therapy style be a good fit for you?
It depends, and sometimes we need more time to get to the bottom of what the pain is, and we won't know until we are working together for a few sessions.
It may take longer than short-term, and it may take more than once a week. Everyone's needs are different, and that is ok. Either short or longer, it can be an intense and rewarding therapy.
I love to meet in-person and share space and energy with people who are anxious and doubtful, sleep deprived, and wanting to heal. It's really one of the things I do best.
I have learned that telehealth can be very up close and personal, and sometimes more intimate than in-person. If I wasn't able to really use my senses and have it be close to an in-person experience, then I wouldn't do Telehealth.
We set up our computers and cameras in order to have eye contact, as if we were in the same room-together. Ultimately-a mix of both in-person and Telehealth works well... and for now, I am all telehealth. New York Florida
The answer is maybe, yes, and sometimes no. It is dependent on your insurance plan, the out of network status, and how you submit the superbill receipts.
You pay up front and then submit your superbill and the rest is between you and the insurance company. I do not provide pre-authorizations, or paperwork for self-pay and OON reimbursement. Please sign the GFE on the Start Therapy page, as this pertains to the No Surpruse Act, meaning you will never owe more than $400 or you can appeal the bill. Of course, you will need to know your benefits, and payment is made before session. There should be no surprises and I welcome questions about this.
ISTDP is a very active therapy and it is also video-recorded. Therefore, I see less people, assess the video in between sessions, and use my time with clinical practices. Therefore, I charge self-pay for this service.
Since I am well trained in this modality, I may be using it in session and with therapy covered by insurance, along with other modalities, such as CBT, Mindfulness, it is not video-recorded.
If you are requesting ISTDP, regardless of your insurance plan, please know it will be self-pay.

I am an active member of the New York State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers(NASW), as well as a member of the International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association(IEDTA)
I specialize in therapy for Depression and for Anxiety through Telehealth in Syracuse, New York, and the state of Florida.
I meet for 60 minutes for each session, and I have witnessed it does take 60 minutes in session to get to our focus and breakthrough, without all the defenses in the way. Yet, sometimes money can be tight and the 45 minute session may be more cost effective for you. If this is what you need then I will work with you for the 45 minute session.
